2010: Better Than a Reset; A New Game

2009 was a rough year. In some ways I feel I want to just press the reset button and start over, but in reality what needs to happen is a new game all together. Forget the reset button.

So I am reevaluating everything, from where I live, what I do, and how I make money. Everybody has great advice for me. “Do this.” “Do that.” “Join me in this.” “You’d be great at that.” Or so they say. Seems like everybody either wants me to make them some money (with little regard to how much I make) or they want me to do stuff I hate or am not good at to make a living. Not very appealing options. And 2009 was filled with way too much of those. I listened to other people, and all it has done is hurt me financially, emotionally & spiritually.

2009 was the year I was lost, as far as my life purpose goes. I listened to others and let myself get distracted by their advice, their invitations and their projects & dreams. But they are not my dreams.

And as a friend of mine once said:

Never stray from your path, or else eventually you will be going the wrong way. — Eric Uhrhane

And that is exactly what has happened.

Some people mean well, others try to use me, and sometimes it’s a bit of both, but what it comes down to is me standing up for what I stand for. And unfortunately that means remembering what I stand for. Somewhere I have seemed to have forgotten or gave up somewhere.

So 2010 will be the year of me being a powerful leader, creating my destiny, and doing what I love and am good at, and make money doing it.

2010 will be an exciting year. I declare it. It’s time to turn things around. :)

Light at the End of Tunnel

My recent advice to someone who was down and discouraged. Thought I’d share:

Hang in there. As someone who has gone though some pretty rough things, I can genuinely say things will get better. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes the first set of lights is a train, so be prepared for that. Get out of the way, stay by the walls till it passes, then find the real light at the end of the tunnel. ;) Oh, and bring a pickax, there might have been a cave in.

Phone Blogging to the Rescue

I haven’t posted to my blog in awhile even though I have had some great ideas for posts, partly because I have been to busy, and partly because I am often inspired when I am away from the computer. By the time I reach my computer, either the inspiration is gone, or I have so much work waiting for me I don’t dare blog. By adding an app to my G1 phone that allows me to blog by phone, I’m more likely to actually blog. (That is the theory, anyway.) Being able to post from my phone has helped me update Twitter more often (which updates my Facebook as well), so it should hold true about blogging too. After all, I am blogging this from my phone now. ;) We shall see. :)

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Ever notice that when things go wrong, they tend to go really wrong?  That has been the last 6 months for me.  One thing after another, each one of which would knock anyone down by itself.  Each time, getting up to be knocked down again.  While I am not going to publicly go into detail, I will say that things have been really rough.

It’s kinda like the universe is kicking you while you are down.  Of course, in the irony of the universe, I would not be surprised if while the universe was kicking you, it was yelling at you to get up!
