Why Post My Personal Journey In Public

Well, naturally, I am not posting all the details, but I am revealing much more about myself and my journey than most people would. Why?

Well, for one, I know I am not the only one who goes through this. Most people go around pretending to others (or worse, to themselves) that they have all their ducks in a row, but really they are going through their own struggles. I think that perhaps what I have to say would be helpful to others, especially others who think they are the only one struggling.

Secondly, I plan to be successful, very successful. I plan on being rich and being very generous with my money, promoting the causes that I believe in.1 I intend on making a huge difference in the world. And I believe that everyone has that capability within them, to be great in their own way. Not necessarily on a grand scale, but great none the less. Hopefully my journey will help dispel the myth that great people are somehow “special.” They are special, unique and different, but they are as special, unique and different as everyone on this planet. Everyone has the choice to become great despite their circumstances. Hopefully I will be a guide for those who make that choice. And it is a choice. So perhaps my journey could give clues to others on how to do the same.

You are unique.. Just like everybody else.

Thirdly, I believe people should be able to be themselves, and right now I am in a state of transition and my life currently revolves around that. If I were to try to hide that, I would have little else to say. And not wanting to be silent anymore, I chose to go ahead and be myself, just as I am and just as I am not. And right now its not as pretty as I’d like it. But I am working on that.

Some of the most amazing people I know are fully self-expressed. They have all the struggles and circumstances we do, but they chose to be powerful in the face of it and be themselves. I admire that trait, and this blog, in part, is my attempt to emulate that.

I don’t have all my ducks in a row yet. But that is part of what I am doing. Not for anyone else, but for myself.

I think you better go in there and start herding your ducks.
